Back from Atlanta

Just got back from Atlanta -
since we are hardcore Boston sports fans,
and, do not live far from Atlanta,
we got tickets to see the Celtics play
the Hawks. We had great seats -- 2nd row
of the 1st balcony @ center court
Too bad KG did not play, but, we won anyway!
I am the featured artist on ShimmerMeBlue's blog
and am doing a blog giveaway (thru 4/2) - any bracelet
in my Etsy Shop! Here is the link to her blog:
Check it out!
Here is my most recent card --
I love pink and brown together!
It could be used to celebrate an engagement,
bridal shower or wedding.

The Guest

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Ours was busy -- yard work and, of course, March Madness!
Unfortunately, our beloved BC Eagles did not advance!
However, speaking of birds, look what we found over our front door!

Neat blog giveaway @ http://www.nauticalbynatureblog.com/!! Kate has updated her blog and to celebrate, she has collaborated with LWhelan Designs and giving away one of Lynn's awesome Lilly Pulitzer luggage tags! Check it out!!!

As I still love cardmaking and paper crafts,

here are 2 new additions to my Etsy shop:

Hello, Spring!!!

Decided to add my handcrafted cards to my Etsy shop!

~~~~~
Spring is here! - Spring poem by Milou
Poor old winter has gone to the ground
He froze all ears till no one heard a sound
He tortured us with his chilly breeze
He laughed at us for every sneeze
But now in his replacement comes
With singing birds, flowers, and sun
A nice and jolly little fellow
Who’d been waiting in a burrow
Till old winter would wither and die
Just like the flowers that he’d bring by
And now everyone shouts hooray
‘Cause Spring has just arrived today!
a card & a bottle of wine
This the "Save the date" card I made for my son and his beautiful bride. Since we got so many compliments from friends and relatives, I thought I would list it in my Etsy shop.
It is simple, but, elegant -- I just love the embossing on the left side!
A funny email I received from my sister -- too good not to share:
A BOTTLE OF WINE----A TOUCHING STORY ALL WOMAN WILL ADORE!
Sally was driving home from one of her business trips in Northern Arizona when she saw an elderly Navajo woman walking on the side of the road.
As the trip was a long and quiet one, she stopped the car and asked the Navajo woman if she would like a ride.
With a silent nod of thanks, the woman got into the car. Resuming the journey, Sally tried in vain to make a bit of small talk with the Navajo woman. The old woman just sat silently, looking intently at everything she saw, studying every little detail, until she noticed a brown bag on the seat next to Sally. 'What in bag?' asked the old woman.
Sally looked down at the brown bag and said, 'It's a bottle of wine. I got it for my husband.'
The Navajo woman was silent for another moment or two. Then speaking with the quiet wisdom of an elder, she said: 'Good trade.....'
In Honor of St. Patrick's Day .....
a little poem ....
For each petal on the shamrock, this brings a wish your way - Good health, good luck, and happiness for today and every day. ~Author Unknown
And, a photo of Zoe celebrating St. Patrick's Day a few years ago. St. Patrick's day is a big deal in Savannah, and, although we no longer live there we certainly did enjoy being introduced to the way it is celebrated down South! Lots of fun!!!!!!!!
Here is the newest bracelet that I made -- guess I'm on a turquoise and coral kick!
Friday the 13th!!
Okay, so today is Friday the 13th -- here are some tidbits I found out about this "unlucky" day:
Many airports skip the 13th gate.
Airplanes have no 13th aisle.
Hospitals and hotels regularly have no room number 13.
Italians omit the number 13 from their national lottery.
On streets in Florence, Italy, the house between number 12 and 14 is addressed as 12 and a half.
Another sure sign of Spring!
The Cardinals are back!
This is a necklace I made yesterday as a birthday gift for my sister. Although, as I was photographing it, I realized I will need to restring it. There should be 5 coral beads on each side of the clasp and one side has 6!! What a pain stringing those chip beads!!
Hola!
Okay, so, this is my very 1st entry into the world of blogging! What to say 'bout myself? Not really a chatty cathy when it comes to talkin' about myself, but, here goes!
I am a transplanted New Englander, living in the deep South -- and, lovin' it! Our kids are grown and we now reside with 2 big hounds - Zoe (hence the name of the blog) and Brady.
Other than our love for our family, the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics and the BC Eagles, I am also passionate about the crafts that I do. Although, I don't tend to call it crafts -- crafts to me, sounds more like a hobby. It has become way more than a hobby to me -- more of an obsession. Five years ago, I was introduced to the world of scrapbooking while I lived in Savannah, GA, and, well, now I have what my youngest son dubbed "the Scraptorium". It now shares space with all of the gems that I have purchased after becoming introduced to the world of "beading" -- my new passion.
Recently, I have been combining the two since my youngest son is getting married very soon -- the invitations were created in the Scraptorium along with the jewelry for his beautiful bride.
